Quando Giovanni Reale ocupava-se da edi��o italiana das obras completas de Plat�o, sugeriu a Thomas Szlez�k, sucessor de Konrad Gaiser na dire��o do "Platon Archiv" do instituto filol�gico da Universidade de Tubingen, uma obra introdut�ria que fosse, ao mesmo tempo uma s�ntese do magistral trabalho de Szlez�k intitulado "Plat�o e a escritura da filsofia". O resultado foi uma pequena preciosidade fundada na moderna interpreta��o de Plat�o exercitada por mestres como Giovanni Reale, Hans Kramer e Konrad Gaiser. Centrada na perspectiva aberta pelos estudos filologicos daqueles mestres, que sistematicamente t�m se ocupado em deslocar o eixo interpretativo das obras de Plat�o da forma como foi estabelecido por Schleiermacher para um novo centro interpretativo a partir das "agrapha dogmata". O livro de Szlez�k � uma esp�cie de s�ntese das conquistas at� aqui alcan�adas pela "Escola de Tubinguen".
