All the so-called African American had their history stolen from them by the European race, they never knew that King James VI and I, was an Hebrew Israelite, In 1600 the Romans took down King James and white washed the color of his face.

A Significant Historic Contribution

Dr. Patterson's King James VI and I and the Reunion of Christendom is a significant contribution to the volume of works written about early 17th Century . The work shows that James tried to acheive an ecumenical union among the fractured states of Europe in a century that saw one crisis after another. The incredible amount of research that went into this book is clearly evident. This would make an excellent addition to anyone's library.

Good old doctor seuss

I was given this clever little book for my birthday last year (a gentle hint, perhaps, to get me on the right path?), and while I can't imagine paying [$$$] for it, that's about the only criticism I can dredge up. Anything by the good doctor is brilliant, of course. Anything he touches is magic. And we will always laugh.

Have Some Good Laughs About Organizational Stalls!

Dr. Seuss was thought to have been a writer for children, but every parent knows that there was plenty of content to keep the adults amused, too. Someone obviously had an interesting idea in selecting those parts of Dr. Seuss's work that apply to organizations.
The subjects covered include learning, setting goals, avoiding micromanagement, growth, surpassing competitors, cycles, speculation, chaos theory, the stock market, business trips, synergy, maintaining competitive advantage, synergy, delegating, corporate hierarchies, downsizing, innovation, and higher education.
You may well remember some of the rhymes. The idea of getting Horton to sit on the egg in the delegating section brought back happy memories.
The most apt rhyme to me was the one about having a watcher to watch a bee, because watched bees work harder. Except, of course, the bee did the same after it was watched as before.
Each rhyme is wonderfully illustrated.
A good use for this book would be to share the proper rhyme with a colleague who is getting it wrong. Humor is a good way to bust stalls.

Seuss-like Fun for the Workplace!

This book is marvelous and is both fun and educational in Seuss's classic rhyming style! It only left me wondering where the real "Grinch" or the corporate "Once-ler" really were among all the rhyming advice? Well, I finally found lots of those true-to-life "Grinch" and "Once-ler" like characters in the hilarious, educational and insightful satire, "MANAGEMENT BY VICE"!! With short, sharp verses, easy-to-read prose and a uniquely candid directness it addresses many important issues in both the R&D and corporate/managerial worlds! My sincere recommendation for MBA students and those struggling in the corporate mill is to memorize "Seuss-ism's for Success", yet never to forget the wise lessons in "Management by Vice" for they will help you avoid the tougher workplace pitfalls and make the changes that count and lead to greatly improved management/employee relations!

Not Worth the Money

I purchased this book thinking that it would be helpful to me in my quest to identify Sarah Coventry jewelry. It has many lovely pictures, but hardly any names for the jewelry pieces shown. Since Sarah Coventry named so many of their items, I think it is necessary to have those names associated with the pieces. It does me no good to see a picture of what I already have and still cannot name it. The most helpful part of this book is in the back where the author has pictures of Sarah's catalog pages 1976, 1978, and 1980. Jewelry can be identified there if you have a magnifying glass. Also, I believe the author has unrealistic values on the jewelry shown. I see sets that she has valued at $45-$65 selling online for much less.

For any even quasi-serious collector, this book is worse than unhelpful; it is erroneous. Less than 10% of the pieces are identified...and some of them improperly. One of the most iconic designs, "Midnight Magic" is identified as "Midnight Madness", twice. The "Pearl Flight" pin is described as a 'shell design pin'. Most pieces are simply described, for example, as 'necklace and matching bracelet.' No dates are referenced. A tremendous disappointment. You can learn much more about Sarah Coventry jewelry on ebay and Google. One plus...it's a great workbook for writing in your own identifications and catching the author's errors ;-)

About the Author
Anthony Kelly is an Emeritus Professor and a Distinguished Research Fellow in the Department of Materials Science and Metallurgy at Cambridge University (UK). Professor Kelly has been employed in universities, in governmental science (National Physical Laboratory) and in industry (ICI). He was Vice-Chancellor of the University of Surrey (UK) and while there he established the Surrey Research Park. In 1963 with Robin Nicholson he produced the first synthesis relating type of dispersion and work hardening characteristics of metals. This has become an SCI citation classic. Since 2000 his main research interest is in using composite principles to control and to modify the thermal expansion coefficients of materials. He is the principal author of the two previous very successful editions of "Crystallography and Crystal Defects" and of other books and has a worldwide reputation in materials science.

Dr. Kevin Knowles is senior lecturer at Department of Materials Science and Metallurgy at the University of Cambridge (UK). He received his DPhil at Oxon (UK) on aspects of the crystallography of martensitic transformations. Dr. Knowles has lectured and supervised a course on crystallography to third year undergraduates and he lectures and supervises a course on plasticity and deformation processing to undergraduates. The research interests of his group focus on the relationship between microstructure and the mechanical and electronic properties of engineering ceramics.

Not the best book out there. The book fails miserably especially on the chapters dealing with crystallographic point groups. Overall this book is for mat sci students who already know their stuff

About the Author
Regarded as the greatest of the German Renaissance artists, Albrecht D�rer (1471–1528) created a vast body of work that ranges from altar pieces to copper engravings and portraits. Painter, printer, draughtsman, and art theorist, he remains best known for his woodcuts.

Durer 101

Dover has been saving the world from itself for decades. Long before the internet and e-books, it was busy resurrecting books from obscurity, reformatting them as readable, affordable editions of great societal value. Now this “Pictorial Series” of e-book allows us to see the best-ofs of major artists lost in the dusts of time and the megalopolis of new art and artists.

There is no great discovery here, no investigation, interview or controversy. There is a simple, quick biography followed by 94 plates and you’re on your own as to their quality and value. I for one have always been fascinated with woodcuts, a particular form of masochism that has the ability to astound when done well. And there are endless examples of it being done well. Durer’s ability to maintain proportion and perspective, his use of shading and depth, and his scientific appreciation of the human body are all on display here.

A good overview of Durer's woodcuts

Durer was a master of detail in his work, and this book includes almost a hundred of his woodcuts. They provide a good representation of his artistry and attention to detail.

Not surprisingly, given it is an inexpensive Dover edition, there isn't a lot of context, just an introduction and titles. In the electronic version I have the images are fine when viewed at their intended size. The appropriate context for this book is that you are getting a lot for a low price, not that you are getting an exquisite presentation as you might expect from a much more expensive book from a fine art publishing house.

Wonderful, a must for anyone interested in printmaking

As a printmaker I really admire Durer work. This book provides 92 of his fabulous prints - all black and white, of course but wonderful. I cannot get over the artistry in his work - each line is clearly shown, yet blends into the fabric of the print, light, shade and shadow all there with just a line. This book is a must for any printmaker, or anyone who has an interest in print making. This book was provided to me in return for a honest and unbiased review.

This book, is very detailed but very user-friendly.It covers basic cardiac anomilies to the more detailed,(not so common)anomolies as well as signs and symptoms.This book covers adult as well as some pediatrics. Listed in alpphabetical order, they are easily accessed.The last section covers all formulas and methods, with calculations.
The book is a little large for pocket use, measuring approximately 9x5 inches. Enjoy, RDR

The best echo reference

Great tables of normal/abnormal values and diagnostic criteria (more complete than Otto and Mayo manual). Especially useful for practical echo reporting. The book does assume a basic working knowledge of echocardiography: beginner should use this book in conjunction with the Otto or Mayo text.

It was Pretty Good

This book had a really good blurb. The outline of the story is intriguing, and dramatic. You just know it is going to be dark, and full of exciting stuff, only, it's just mediocre at best. There were no serious editing problems, the flow of the story was seamless, and it had plenty of detail, but it wasn't nearly as flavorful as it seemed it would be. I have read several dark romances, and this one was very mild. It was pretty good, but it wasn't as fascinating as it could have been. I think a lot of people will like this story. Those being the type who like older guy, younger girl romances, those who like a lite variety of the darker side. It was just ok for me. It is not bad, by any means, so I definitely would recommend it to those who aren't into the hardcore dark erotica.

Strong start to an interesting series!

I think that there are three in this series; I thought this was the first one but it wasn’t. Needless, it doesn’t matter if you’ve read the other – it is a standalone and the way that the other book is referenced just helps to add to this storyline.

Patrick is the head of the Irish mafia (Italian and Russian are the other mafias in town) and he had to kill one of his men – a good friend – five years ago to keep peace in the city. Before his death, his friend asked him to take in his daughter, Lauren, and keep her safe. Just about 18, Patrick realized he was attracted to Lauren so he sends her off to Dublin to a women’s college for school… but now she’s back and she has her heart and eyes set on Patrick.

As for the disclaimer of it being a “dark romance”, please don’t let that hold you back from reading this book. I guess it is dark from the standpoint of the fact he killed her father, or his rather brusque and cavalier attitude toward showing her what his life really entails (he beats up a man and then kills a man in front of her), and she does get slapped by a rival boss. However, when I think of a dark romance I think of Pepper Winters or Lili Valente, and Lauren is in no way imprisoned or subjugated by Patrick. I think that if you are reading a “mafia romance” genre book, you aren’t expecting unicorns and rainbows, so it will be fine!

What a great book!

What a great book! Patrick is the head of the Irish mafia, who would have thought such a tuff guy could be so sweet, but only to Lauren that is. Even though he loves Lauren he tries his best to keep at arm’s length. The attraction is mutual between the two; Lauren has been in love with Patrick from day one. Patrick's been hiding a secret; this secret could be the end to the relationship as secrets often do. Will the love they have for each other survive? Or will other forces tear them apart?

I enjoyed the love story between the two, the suspense and the mystery. The bedroom scenes are scorching hot with a touch of consensual ruff sex. The bad guys will have you surprised! I'm very excited start to read the next one book in this series. I would definitely recommend this story to my friends. I received this as an ARC in exchange for an honest review. Thank you

All ecologists should have this book. It does a great job of introducing the concept of metacommunities and also provides numerous empirical and theoretical perspecitives.
