Awakening to Wholeness describes a two-fold path of awakening that combines psychological and spiritual development. Psychology is concerned with the personal aspects of our being (i.e. body, emotions, mind and ego-self) and spirituality is concerned with the transpersonal aspects of our being (i.e. soul and true-Self):

• Psychological Development means "growing up" psychologically, i.e. freeing ourselves from the childish, defensive, reactive and egotistical programming that keeps us from living life fully consciously. It involves mastering (not repressing) our thoughts, emotions and bodies to free ourselves from the fears, inhibitions, conditioned behaviours, reactive emotions, critical judgements and limiting beliefs that prevent us from living happy, peaceful and fulfilling lives. This is achieved by dissolving the "negative" psychological material that keeps us trapped in these old patterns, and by actively expressing positive qualities in our daily lives.
• Spiritual Development means "waking up" spiritually, i.e. raising our level of consciousness (to connect with our true-Self) and widening our breadth of consciousness (to experience life more fully). It is not about transcending the world; it is about bringing higher levels of consciousness down into our being and expressing them in our daily lives. It is about being here as fully as we can and experiencing all of life. There is nothing we can actually "do" to spiritually evolve because it is the result of not doing, undoing or being. Simply "being" is at the core of every authentic spiritual practice, including meditation, mindfulness and prayer.

Extremely Helpful, Insightful, and Reader-Friendly

I highly recommend this book to anyone who is interested in learning to live their life gracefully. It is a priceless book for any spiritual seeker because it emphasizes the practical, daily aspects of living and dealing with psychological obstacles. In addition, it would be helpful to anyone interested in psychological healing and developing a new, higher perspective on life. This book provides us with a deep understanding of our being and allows us to heal ourselves and become whole by understanding and accepting all aspects of our psyche. It emphasizes the importance of treating ourselves with love, compassion, and acceptance, and is devoid of "moralism" and dogmatism. Living life is an art, and it takes wisdom, psychological knowledge, and skills to master that art. This book offers much needed guidance on doing this. Thus, it would be helpful even to those who are not extremely interested in metaphysics as such.
"Awakening to Wholeness" would be a perfect complement to anyone who read Lee Bladon's first book, "The Science of Spirituality," and it would be a perfect alternative to those who haven't read it or aren't interested in the more metaphysical and technical aspects of spirituality. The book is extremely reader-friendly in that it presents the information in a highly coherent and personal manner. It is not overly technical and yet it makes all the necessary distinctions and clarifies a lot of gray areas. In addition, it is greatly formatted which makes it appealing and easy to read. Highly recommended.

This book explains, in a logical and straightforward way, the daily methods, techniques, and living of one's life that lead to Self-realization and the evolution of one's spirituality. If you are seeking direct answers to the questions "Why am I here?" or "Who am I?" etc., this is the book for you. This work transcends the Eurocentric theological dogma that permeates Western approaches to living a spiritual life. This book provides accessible, practical wisdom that you can apply in your daily life. This work is not pedantic and does not proselytize any belief system making itself applicable to any faith, religion, or non-sectarian. This work adds to the literature and methods for achieving enlightenment rather than simply recompile what has already been said in so many other publications. Read it! You won't be disappointed.

About the Author
Steve Anderson has been teaching golf for over two decades. He is a Class-A member of the PGA of America and is classified as an A-6 golf professional, or Ateaching pro. He is also one of 43 golf professionals in the United States to have "Advanced Certification in Instruction" from the PGA of America. Of those 43, he is the only lefthander. In 2000, he was named "Teacher of the Year" by the South Florida PGA.

He is the Resident Head Instructor for Left-tee Golf, the most popular web site for left handed golfers in the Internet, and is an on-line professional for PGA of America. For several years he headed up the Ken Venturi Golf Training Center on Hilton Head Island, South Carolina.

Anderson has had numerous instruction articles published regionally and nationally and hosted a popular golf show for the NBC affiliate in Southwest Florida. He has expert certification in club fitting from Titleist, Slazenger, Zevo, and the P.G.A. Titleist named Anderson one the "Top 100" club fitters in the U.S. In May, 2000, he reached a milestone in his career by giving his 35,000th lesson. He averages nearly 2,000 lessons a year. Anderson is a Head Teaching Professional in Ft. Myers, Florida.

Address Your Game with This One

Statuettes and trophies are right-handed. Weapons are for right-handers. Tools are for right-handers. Equipment is for right-handers. Throttle and stick are for right-handers. Zippers are for right-handers, and even golf courses are for right-handers, just as all the golf books are--until now. Author, Steve Anderson provides something for the banished, the Obama, the forgotten, the discounted--the left-hander!

And how refreshing it is to look at pictures of a golf swing, stance, grip, and text, and not have to transpose picture or word in my head to the opposite. "Right-handed" golf books were as confusing as asking someone, "I turn left here, yes?" only to hear the answer, "Right."

With almost eighty black-and-white pictures, Anderson shows the left-handed reader the fundamentals, the address, how to correct bad shots, club fitting, refining the short game (putting, chipping), and many more topics designed to help the left-hander improve his or her golf game on courses that are mostly rigged for right-handers. His writing is clear enough that most of the text doesn't have to be read more than once to understand or visualize what he is talking about. Mr. Anderson even provides a web address and phone number for information and lessons. (Smart).

If you are a left-handed golfer as I am, this is the only book you will need to improve your golf game, but it is a book that is not read just once. You may need to read parts over and over again until they become golfing habits. Toss out those other books with the smiling right-handed obfuscators in the pictures, for they are the true handicap of your golf.

The Best Damn Golf Book ( and Instructor) you can Buy !!!!!

I have just recently completed 8 lessons with Steve Anderson and as part of his instrucution I was given his book. Steve
could not be any clearer about the golf swing than he is
within "On the Other Hand". This book shows you everything that is needed to build a solid golf swing. I am a 16 handicap and after being down in Flordia the last 5 weeks and studying under
Steve, I have had the 2 best rounds of my career in tournaments
82 - 86 . I have no one other than Steve to thank fo that. Buy the book, and more importantly get down here and take a lesson with him !!! The great thing is that Steve's instruction follows the book word for word, so even if you don't get a chance to come down and work on your swing in person, you can be guaranteed to feel like you're "almost there" when reading his book. THANKS STEVE !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Review on "Handbook and Atlas of Curves"

This book is a good reference book on curves. Its only caveat is that there is nothing in the book about history or geometrical properties of the curves listed in this work. However, the analytic propertis\es of the curves are listed, as well as other representations of the curves (e.g. polar, parametric). I'd say this book is good for looking at the analytic properties.

A good beginner book with an overview of the aspects of literature review

I am torn on how I ultimately feel about this book because it was required for a class in a PhD program. The book itself is not one that I would have normally purchased because a lot of the information is taught or easily accessible in other resources. However, since it is required for the course we have to read it out of order which might be why I felt that it was a waste of the book.

The book is published outside of the US and refers to sites or resources that are not ones that would normally be referenced in a US based course. Obviously, this also means that some words are spelled different and may be used in a context that someone from the US may not recognize. If you have never had to "review" literature then this is a great book to have. If, however, you have already had a few classes that required reviews and have covered it extensively, then this is not the best book for you.

There are also some parts in this that are rather vague and could have been expanded on a little more. As an overview, though, they cover a lot and this book is a good beginner book.

EXACTLY what I needed

I had been working on my darn lit review for a few months, spinning my wheels and not knowing exactly what to write. This book takes you from the beginning and the title says it best "step-by-step". The first chapter talks about what is a lit review and many different examples of published lit reviews from dissertations. Then it goes into the types and you can figure out which lit review is best for you, or a combination of approaches. It tells you how to take good notes while you're studying so that you know exactly what to put in the review and as a bonus for me, it shows you how to incorporate EndNote in your search. Then it explains how to structure the review, the difference between critical reading and critical writing, etc etc etc. This author has found the perfect middle ground between sounding too simple and too complex. If I had this book months ago, my dissertation would probably be complete by now. I also bought Chris Hart's book "Doing a Literature Review" but this one is much better. Very easy to read but packed with extremely helpful information. Get this if you've never done a lit review before and need guidance.

Mills' considers the biggest influences on Trudeau, including Harold Laski, Jacques Maritain, and Emmanuel Mounier. Mills also recounts Trudeau's travels across the world throughout the 1950s, travelling in Europe, the Near and Far East, Egypt and Sudan, the USSR, Pakistan, India, Indonesia, Australia and New Zealand, regions in West Africa, Israel, Vietnam, Persia and Taiwan. A chapter considers Trudeau's evolving thought on Federalism and Nationalism, both internationally and in terms of Quebec and Canada. A chapter on Trudeau's moralism highlights his belief that politics requires individuals of conscience, who have the courage to speak frankly about their beliefs.

Mills' biography shows us that understanding Trudeau the thinker is key to understanding Trudeau the politician, whose life was both a practical and a theoretical one. He was a cool political thinker who believed that clear analysis of political questions was essential to good governance.

About the Author
Carol Dunn was born in England, and moved to the U.S. in her twenties. She obtained a BA in Philosophy and Art History and an MA in Philosophy, from City University of New York. She completed coursework for a Ph.D. but became dissatisfied with the discipline's overall focus on science, logic, and linguistics, since her own interests were in metaphysics and religion. She jumped ship to follow an Eastern spiritual teacher and, over the years, was surprised to find that some of the core concepts were also found in Plato's Dialogues. Carol's MA paper was titled "Plato's Forms: Their Evolution from Immanence to Transcendence," which led to her book, Plato's Dialogues: Path to Initiation. Carol is currently researching a book on Pythagoras.

At last!

I have been waiting for a scholar to take Plato's purpose seriously since I first read Plato in college. I was struck at the time by my professors' unwillingness to take the dialogues seriously as a verbal approach to the truth beyond words and concepts. It is evident in the dialogues that Plato saw Socrates as much more than an intellectual and that Socrates spoke with great certainty of higher consciousness and wished to help others attain it. Can the academics stop being embarrassed by Plato long enough to take in what he really said? Carol Dunn's work is an exciting and yet careful reading of Plato always. It is always striving to understand what he wanted us to take in.

An Important and Unique Work of Scholarship

Ms. Dunn has provided innovative and refreshing new insights into Plato's Dialogues. This is simply an extraordinary book. The author clearly has a firm grasp of the eastern world view and she adeptly interprets Plato's works in that context. In doing so, she offers coherence where others have only observed confusion or contradiction. The mistake many scholars make, I believe, is to read Plato exclusively from a western perspective; understanding him only as the founder of western philosophy. Ms. Dunn, however, recognizes Plato's influences from the ancient east and the world view that comes with it. I look forward to other authors further building on Ms. Dunn's work. But she will remain the original pioneer on such an approach--and an extremely lucid and adept one at that. Her scholarship in this task is superb. I look forward to her coming work on Pythagoras, and hopefully much more to come.

There are better books.

To be fair to the author, I think the themes of Plato's Dialogues: Path to Initiation are fascinating and important. Yet I feel like I'm reading the work of a struggling graduate student, (mired in academic philosophy at CCNY,) when she may be better suited to do other things. So it is not surprising when the author became dissatisfied with the discipline's overall focus on science, logic and linguistics. Importantly, mathematics should also be included on that list, but that would also exclude music theory, and therefore a large portion of her thesis: Plato's thinking is inherited from Pythagoras. I am not saying the book's thesis is wrong. Dunn may offer an opinion, and certainly a pall of disdain for the early 20th century classicists she relies on for her translations, but not a case. The essays at times remind me of undergraduate essays that I composed many years ago: worked and re-worked over and over, striving to be clear but instead making a muddle of it. I hope that one day Ms. Dunn revisits her work from a new perspective, because there is much here that is worth re-examining; provided, of course, she can find the words to express it. I would suggest: The Music of Pythagoras: How an Ancient Brotherhood Cracked the Code of the Universe and Lit the Path from Antiquity to Oute by K. Ferguson, or The Golden Thread: The Ageless Wisdom of the Western Mystery Traditions by Godwin and Smoley.

Difficult problems are ... difficult

First, as a quick proxy of how good it is, and as a way of enticing busy readers, I should note that I finished Atal Gawande's book Better: A Surgeon's Notes On Performance in less than four hours. I can't remember the last time that happened. True, it's a relatively short book, and I had some uninterrupted time on a bus. But mostly it's that Gawande is a straightforward, energetic, thoughtful writer whose essays relentlessly pull you forward. Each discusses one or two ideas in enough depth to make you realize that they're not easy problems -- which is all most people need, and which does a world of good on its own. Every country has its unquestioned assumptions; it's the rare writer who helps us question them and gently remind us that if there were easy solutions, we'd have found them by now. Gawande is good at that.

The most moving and thought-provoking of these essays, to me, was "The Doctors of the Death Chamber," in which Gawande interviews four doctors (whom he labels "A," "B," "C" and -- wait for it -- "D," in order to secure their anonymity) who help states carry out the death penalty humanely. The use of "humanely" here is questionable; it's humane in the sense that, if we are to use the death penalty, we must not be needlessly cruel at the time of the criminal's death. But it's inhumane in the larger sense that we are furthering a corrupt system -- we are "tinker[ing] with the machinery of death," to use Justice Blackmun's words. Since a doctor's role is to protect human lives, are anaesthesiologists who help execute people painlessly violating their roles? To put it more succinctly: should a doctor make the best of the machinery of death, or should he take no part in the machine? The American Medical Association has its answer and its role. Democratically elected governments have their own. It's Gawande's job to teach us that easy answers don't exist for complicated problems like this.

One reason it's so easy to come up with easy answers for questions like this is that we rarely come face to face with the system we critique. Gawande does the legwork for us. He's at his best, in this regard, when he interviews a medical-malpractice attorney, a doctor, and the family of a dead patient involved in one malpractice case. We're all inclined to boo at the malpractice attorney . . . right up to the moment we feel we've been wronged, when that attorney is the man we want on our side. Gawande knows that this is how we work, so he takes some time to look at a case when doctors failed other doctors: Gawande's friend Bill Franklin found that doctors had failed to treat a tumor on Franklin's son that they should have noticed years before -- that someone had actually singled out on an X-ray for further study. This is the test case where ethics hits the road: when it's your own son, and you're a doctor, and you're well aware of the expenses of medical malpractice, what do you do? After trying other routes, Franklin did what so many others do: he sued and won. (Along the way Franklin helped establish a precedent in the Massachusetts Supreme Court, in the case of Franklin v. Massachusetts General Hospital et al., affecting the statute of limitations on malpractice cases. Seems worth reading.)

Better contains lots of great little insights into the medical profession -- for instance, how difficult it is to get doctors and nurses to wash their hands as often as is safe for patients, or the awkwardness of a male doctor palpating a naked female patient. Throughout it all, Gawande's organizing principle is to lay out for us the system in which doctors work, the limitations they operate under, and how they make the best within those limitations.

I'm less inclined than I used to be to believe that Gawande has an agenda, but I do think that a slightly different arrangement of the chapters within Better would have sent a different message. Had the chapter on malpractice come at the end of the book, after we've read about Gawande's own mistakes and about sloppy handwashing, we'd be less sympathetic toward doctors. In "The Score," which I've mentioned before, Gawande tells us that C-sections are vital in a world where doctors can't be expected to be very talented; in "The Bell Curve," he reveals that not all cystic-fibrosis clinics are the same, and that the medical industry was reluctant for years to release data on how well individual clinics performed. With these insights in mind, malpractice would seem to the reader to be completely justified. As it is, the malpractice article is tucked into the middle of the book; Better ends with a story about heroically performing surgery in poor rural India, and with a few pieces of advice to newly-minted doctors. It's a hopeful ending. I can't decide whether this arrangement was deliberately obfuscating. Nor does Gawande spend much time explaining whether malpractice makes doctors better.

He's fair throughout, however, and his point is that doctors' work is hard. Understanding precisely why it's hard, and what they do to get their jobs done under trying conditions, is Better's job, and it succeeds admirably. It's a great, thought-provoking, fun read.

An Intriguing Work by a Top-Notch Medical Writer

Atul Gawande is a general surgeon at the Brigham and Women's Hospital in Boston and -- from everything I've heard and read about him recently -- one of the best of the new breed of medical writers who devote their prose to informing the general public about important concerns in the world of medicine. If this new book, "Better: A Surgeon's Notes on Performance," is a representative example of his usual writing talent, I will completely agree with the above assessment. This collection of original and previously published essays is highly readable and very interesting. Normally, I am not all that interested in reading about medical topics unless it impacts me personally. I'm not a great fan of hospitals nor am I enthusiastic about going to a physician. Fortunately, for most of my life I have enjoyed relatively excellent health. My attitude, however, changed five years ago and Gawande's book takes on some genuine relevance for me. How so and why?

In a section of his book, entitled "The Mop-Up," Gawande discusses polio and the campaign to wipe it out in Asia wherein he was a momentary observer in the field in 2003. Way back in ancient history, when I was a mere child in the 1940s and America was hit with a polio epidemic, I was diagnosed with polio and almost died. Hence the relevance here for me. But more than that, I am convinced to this day that I was "saved" because of the efforts of a nurse -- I'm sure she was one of Gawande's "positive deviants" which he describes in his book -- who insisted on treating me and others with a controversial treatment (opposed by most of the medical "establishment" at the time) called "The Sister Kenny Method." She never lost a patient, by the way; we all recovered without any significant aftereffects that I know of.

Fortunately, from that time in the 1940s I never needed to be hospitalized again. That is, until 2002. Then I had a heart attack and was forced into a hospital for an angioplasty and had to take note of medical matters, including the state of medical care in this country." So, whereas before that latter year I could ignore books of the type that Gawande writes, I now have a profound interest in all things medical. Even more so since my second heart attack and angioplasty in 2006. (I even subscribe to daily updates via e-mail about medical topics!) I am now very concerned about "better" when it comes to medical care and policy.

Gawande divides his book into three significant sections: Diligence, Doing Right, and Ingenuity. He says that "Diligence" is "the necessity of giving sufficient attention to detail to avoid error and prevail against obstacles." The section "Doing Right" considers topics such as "how much doctors should be paid, and what we owe patients when we make mistakes." Important as these sections are, the final section, "Ingenuity," is of even greater importance in my opinion. Ingenuity, he says, "demands more than anything a willingness to recognize failure" and "arises from deliberate, even obsessive, reflection on failure and a constant searching for new solutions." Amen to that!

Furthermore, Gawande quite realistically concludes: "Betterment is a perpetual labor. The world is chaotic, disorganized, and vexing, and medicine is nowhere spared that reality. To complicate matters, we in medicine are also only human ourselves. ...Yet...to live as a doctor is to live so that one's life is bound up in others' and in science and in the messy, complicated connection between the two. It is to live a life of responsibility. The question...is not whether one accepts the responsibility. Just by doing this work one has. The question is, having accepted the responsibility, how one does such work well." Well said, that. Couldn't agree more.

One of the more politically relevant issues (at least for me) that Gawande discusses is the matter of medical practitioners' involvement in executions. In his essay, "The Doctors of the Death Chamber," he says that "We [doctors and nurses] must do our best to choose intelligently and wisely," and then notes that "Sometimes, however, we will be wrong -- as I think the doctors and nurses are who have used their privileged skills to make possible 876 deaths by lethal injection thus far." I cannot understand how a physician -- "First, do no harm" -- could even contemplate participating in the killing of another human being, even if officially sanctioned. Gawande addresses this issue in what I think is a sensible manner. But the debate on this issue is current, lively and will continue for some time.

I do, however, wish that Gawande had spent more time discussing the future of health care in America as regards the delivery of medical services to all its citizens. He briefly touches on this matter, but not in detail. From my perspective, HMOs are definitely not the solution (they are part of the current problem!) and government-managed health care (socialized medicine) is even less desirable. I mean, the government, in my opinion, cannot even provide a decent public education for our children; how can we expect it to provide decent health care? I have considered a number of proposals, all of them wanting in some way or other. I'd like to see Gawande tackle this problem in a detailed way from a physician's perspective. Maybe another book?

Moreover, regarding the above, it is disturbing to read what one American medical reviewer recently stated: "We spend 50 percent more per capita on health care than any other country, for a total of $2 trillion a year, yet our health system, according to the World Health Organization, ranks 37th worldwide. ...By any measure -- longevity, infant mortality, burden of disease -- we sit in the basement of the industrialized world." For a country that can spend trillions of dollars to wage war and promote "regime changes" throughout the world, that statement is embarrassing and hard to fathom.

All in all, "Better" is a good read and extremely informative. It is full of interesting anecdotes, as well as confronting, if only briefly, some of the major issues in the practice of medicine today such as the influence of money in the healthcare system, the problem of malpractice lawsuits, and medical practice under the tensions of the military battlefield, as well as more mundane issues which are often ignored such as the simple act of hand washing or how nakedness impacts the examination room. Since I have had my own experiences lately with the medical establishment, I can now relate to at least some of the topics that Gawande discusses. Therefore -- and since there is no medical experience like a really personal one -- I highly recommend this book to all readers. I guarantee you'll learn a lot, you'll enjoy the fine writing, and you'll have some thinking to do about the state of medical care in America.

An insider's perspective which can help you be a more informed patient

I'm always on the side of self-education when it comes to medical topics, especially in light of the current health care system and its looming problems. Gawande's skill is in writing movingly ab out all sorts of medical issues, including both failures and successes, in a way that illuminates the complexities of practicing medicine in today's world of HMOs, soaring premiums and more.

Some of his essays may appeal more to you than others but I urge you to read the entire book, as well as to get his other one, Complications. I've read medical memoirs that put me to sleep and have been baffled by how someone could take life and death situations and turn them into dry writing. This isn't the case here and you'll come away from the book with a stronger understanding of all the factors (and possible solutions) that make up the world of medicine, medical ethics and patient care today.

So Good!

Alexander Stravoudas is an architect on the brink of making it big. His business is successful, he's got money to burn, a posh lifestyle, and a beautiful fiancee. He's tall, has long blond hair, and is in good shape...you know the type. He's got it all. Everything is perfect.

Until his fiancee dumps him. He's got a the biggest business deal he's ever had at stake because this emir, with whom he is dealing, wants to deal with a man who is attached to a woman. Alex is angry and goes to the source of his breakup, the woman who'd done the deed of giving him back his ring, Sophia Feuer.

Sophie has her own bakery and works hard at it. She'd moved it into a new building after outgrowing her apartment only to find out later that Alex owns the building and it isn't zoned for a business like hers. She is surprised when he shows up at the back door of the bakery, demanding that she play the part of his fiancee for the next three months. If she didn't do it, he was going to the zoning board and she would lose her business.

There were times when I wanted to punch Sophie in the face. I don't know who died and left her in charge. Who was she to decide the fate of others? It was almost like she was a bad version of Ann Landers or something. She was behind the breakup of Alex and Melanie, the latter of who is one of Sophie's best friends. I thought that gave the story a weird twist but whatever.

Sophia has no choice but to play along with the charade. She hates him and he hates her. They are constantly coming at each other with snide remarks and jibes. Sometimes it's comical. Sometimes it hurts. But they have no choice. They are bound by a contract. They have to see this through.

When they go to Paris, Sophie begins to realize that Alexander is under an incredible amount of pressure and it's not all just from business. He's got something driving him to be perfect and it's not necessarily a good thing. He's got some vulnerabilities that she didn't see at first

She's got a hang-up of her own that prevents her from giving herself to him. Which one will win at the end?

This book was a page-turner with a tight plot, fantastic descriptions of characters and places that they visit, and a great ending. I didn't like Sophia at first because I thought she overstepped her boundaries and toward the end, I didn't like her because she overstepped her boundaries again but it was different that time. Everything was different.

This gets an easy five stars.

SOPHIE'S PERFECT MAN

Alex was engaged to a friend of Sophie's. Unfortunately for Alex, Sophie wasn't going to let her friend make a big mistake by marrying someone who wasn't right for her.
Alex was in the tabloids and things are going from bad to worse for him. Cancelled wedding, cancelled contracts- bad month for the guy.

Alex wasn't going to allow this to go on. He needed a fianc�e and he blackmailed Sophie into being his fake fianc�e..

The verbal sparring between the two was amazing to see. It was as if I was watching a fencing match of two equals.
Much of the time there was a hidden hurt that each was carrying. Once a bit of time and a meager amount of trust and respect could be found, their fake relationship turned to involve the other's heart.

This story was so well done that a short review cannot do it justice.
Characters were fully fleshed out- main, and secondary.
Both families made me want to be included. Sophie's employees were more like family members, jumping in to run her business while she travels with Alex.
The descriptions of all that is Paris was quite detailed. I want "their Paris", as it was so reverently described.

Great read, great job involving the reader to the point of feeling somehow fully immersed in all aspects of the story.

Delight to read!

A link to download this book for free was given at the end of Laird of the Highlands and I am so glad I took advantage of the author's generosity. This is not a standard enemies to lovers story. Just because Sophia persuaded her friend to break her engagement to Alex and he now threatens to destroy her baking business if she doesn't pretend to be his fianc�e doesn't mean this feisty heroine will quietly submit to his blackmail. Both these characters have issues stemming from the past and their interactions are pointed and snarky in the beginning. Little by little, however, they begin to uncover the real people behind their public personas. Neither one wants to relinquish control and their sparing makes this a really fun read. The book is well written and quite steamy in places. This is a new author for me, but I already have another of her books sitting on my Kindle. Highly recommend.
